Ruff Idle problem 1995...

...Firebird 3.4 V6? I got a very ruff idle, but at normal speed, it's fine.

I noticed it a couple of months ago, when I started the car, it would run really ruff for about 10 seconds, then after a couple of weeks, it would run ruff for 30seconds, then longer and longer and now it's running ruff and doesn't go away.

But only at an idle, I replaced the PCV valve and the MAP sensor and still the same problem, spark plugs are black with carbon from whatever is causing this problem.

EGR valve is working, air filter is new, I don't see any broken vacuum lines, compression is good.

Any Ideas what could cause this problem, I hate to keep replacing things that aren't bad

No codes are showing up either for this
I replaced the idle air control valve, still have the problem.
 
You could have a blockage in the exhaust system. I have run across this before. You have to rule this out. Also, just because you don't get a code, doesn't mean you don't have a component problem. You have to make sure that on startup you aren't getting a flooding problem in the injection system. I assume it's TB injection. Good luck.
 
Vacuum leak sucking raw air into the engine.

Replace the plugs. Then get some sea foam and put some of that into the vacuum hose. Then some into the gas tank. Then gun the hell out of it for about 5-10 mins straight. might wanna replace that fuel filter.
