Runs for 5 min, then cuts off!

I've been having lots of issues lately. I just replaced my distributor with points, rotor cap and it's been running great. Yesterday, I was driving down the road and all the sudden she started chugging and I pulled off into a parking lot where it completely cut off while still in drive. I've been told it could be the coil getting too hot, anyone have an idea of that is true?

The Coil is a definite possibility, does it take several minutes (of cool down time) before it will restart? If so I would try another coil. See if you can borrow a known good one and see if it has any affect.
If not I would suspect either a loose connection on the Ignition Condenser or a bad condenser. Did you save the old ignition points and condenser?

It does sound like a ignition issue
