Hey guys,

So a few weeks back i hit a curb. I inspected all the underside of the vehicle and found only the front drivers side knuckle/spindle, rotor/hub and caliper to be damaged. I replaces all of the above took her for a drive and noticed the front end is fine, no noises or anything. but the rear side(depending which way i turn) makes like a scratching noise every revolution of the wheel. The sound gets faster and loud with increased speeds. I suspect CV joints but both sides? and not the inners are gone? I did the accelation and deceleration tests and no noise but its when you turn theres that scraping sound. Any ideas?? BTW its not the so called "clicking" sound of worn cv - joints, its like a scraping.

anyways thats for any feed back...

Most likely it is the brake dust shield on the backside of the rear rotors making the noise. So either you hit a stick or stone in the road and it bent it slightly or the rear bearing hub is worn and has too much play in it.

Hey Orief, i'm just about to go out and investigate. But just to make it a little more clear. The noise transfers. Meaning if I take a right, the noise comes from the rear right and if I take a left - well it comes from the left side. Also rear bearing hub? I thought Its just the CV - shafts that key into the hub and there is no bearings. anyways I'll get back to you..

Hey Orief. So I found out what the problem was! I had to get new tires and rims because i messed up the last ones when i hit the curb. Anyways were the mcpherson strut and knuckle met up the rim is basically touching them ( no clearence) so when i take a turn it rubs up to the rim causing the scratch sound. man what a relief I thought i had to do CVs!
