My 99 Sunfire is making a scraping sound when I start driving it. It does seem to go away as it warms up. It sounds like the brake rotors, but I had them checked and brakes are good. Seems to be coming mostly from the back. Could it be wheel bearings? Something else? Car has 78K miles on it. Thanks!

if not brakes then bearings. If they checked the brakes why didnt they check the bearings? Dont you have drums in the rear?

You are asking a non mechanical person. :) I don't know. This car was sitting for 4-5 years in a garage and I just started driving it 4 months ago. I had a mechanic go over it before I started driving it; he fixed some stuff and checked the brakes. At first, I just figured the scraping was from not being driven. But it hasn't gone away. I just had the bearings replaced in my truck and a light bulb went on in my head. :) So I guess I should at least take it in and have a mechanic look at it, huh?
