sealant on intake bolts?

Well I ended up doing the intake gasket on my 2002 grand am just about ready to put it back togather just wondering should I use some kind of thread sealant on the lower intake bolts if so what kind? I hope the hell I dont ever have to do this again!! What a nightmare!!

Typically if a bolt is going to be in a water passage I put some silicone sealant on it.

Just the lower intake? I would replace valve cover gaskets while I were at it and check for a head gasket leak (maybe I am paranoid but I have had a rash (3) of head gaskets go bad on me [not all my cars also relatives]) This can be verified by a chemical test. Yes it can be a PITA experience but you wouldn't want to have to tear it down again any time soon.
