I am replacing the carpeting in my 1972 lemans 2 door hardtop. When I was removing the driver side and passenger side seat belt retractors I had to disconnect a connector. Does anyone know what this is for? I have the manuals but I also have a two year old so this is a lot easier at this timešŸ˜€ Thanks!

do you have a seat belt light on the dash?

Yes, there is a indicator light, under the brake indicator light (under the speedometer), that says "fasten seat belts" but I have never seen that work. There must be some kind of sensor in the retractors that turns that light off (when properly working) after the seat belts get to a certain point? It's a completely separate harness that connects to the main harness. There is another connector on that harness that was positioned (but not connected) under the passenger seat. It's really not a big deal as I am planning to just remove the harness, just more curios than anything. Thanks again!

There was also a Seatbelt Buzzer, most people disconnected them as they were very annoying while driving with the belts unfastened.
