Hello, i am 16 years old, and my buddy is offering me a very rare car
heres the details:
1985
Fiero SE
181k miles
Manual Tranny
$1,000

I want to buy the car because it's rare and it'll turn heads, but i dont want to buy it because its going to start snowing soon, and my driveway has two cars in the garage and two cars parked behind the garage, so i dont know! but its really rare!!! ahh! what do i do?

The fiero is not really that rare. I know several people that have them and they are pretty neat cars. I'm guessing the fiero is a 4cylinder. The GT I think only came out with the V6. But for the money it would probably be a good buy, if you wanted to take the time to fix it up. If it were me I'd buy it.

Cheap, rare, and unreliable.
How about cheap, rare, and bulletproof? Honda crx.
Your welcome.

the Fiero is buy no means a collectible car.
They were a joke when they were new.
They were a flop of a car
junk

Wow, so many haven't a clue.

The 1985 SE could be ordered with the optional V-6. The GT had the V-6 standard.

In 1985 GM made 76,000 Fiero's. Of them only 11,800 were SE V-6's. So it is slightly rare with regards to Fiero's. Next year it hits 25 years old and becomes a collector car. While it isn't a highly sought after collectable, The values have been slowly climbing. One thing to note is the Fiero is a "cult" car. Those that have them really enjoy them and wouldn't trade them for anything. Those that have never had one or driven one just repeat the inaccurate rumors surrounding them.

A $1000 for a V-6 SE is a fair price depending on condition and how well it has been maintained. http://home.xnet.com/~paulv/Price Guide.htm

The Fiero won more awards when it first came out than any other car since. They were not a "joke" when new. In fact many of the innovations of newer cars came from the Fiero.

A CRX?!?! Didn't most of them already rust away?

lol, get'em Orief! =)

i cant really speak for the 2.5, but the 2.8 v6 has been in almost as many cars as a 305/350. the 60 degree v6 has seen carburation, TBI, FI, MFI. It started out in the citation, went through the fiero, camaro, fierbird, 600, celebrity, cavalier, centry, cimmarron, s-10, s-10 blazer, s-15, the jimmy, the cherokee and comanche, and the trooper. it might not be a powerhouse, but it has definatly proved itself.

hell, i was able to tear down to the lower intake plenum with nothing more than a screwdriver, and a 10mm wrench! and i love how they partitioned the wiring, it makes it so much easier to work on.

i had to drill this into a friends head when he was looking for a car: a car's longevity is based on your willingness to keep up on the matenance.

bulletproof... lol.... this might sound bad, but my friends and i shot up a bunch of cars back in the day (dont worry, no one was in them) one of which was a CRX, and belive me, they ARENT bulletproof ;D infact, an AK47 can crack through a block.

maybe i missed the point :D
