Should I get a nice first car I was thinking about a Pontiac g8 gt?

People have been telling me not to get a nice first car I want a Pontiac g8 gt I am 18 and work 2 jobs and am very close to getting on. I would buy a junker but don't want to waste money on the insurance when I'm just going to get a new car in a few years, that's why I want my first car to be new. And if any Pontiac g8 gt owners answer this in it a nice car to drive, fast, and good going through corners.

Its what you wanna do. If you want a project car get an older one. But if your just getting a car i would get a new one. I just got a 94 firebird for $800. I knew it needed a lot of work. The whole interior needs to be re-done, needs new lifgate shocks, new headlamp motor, new head gasket, new t top seal, rear brakes, tires and some body work so it looks fresh. Get a new one you got car payments but probably wont have to worry about it because if something happens to it its probably under warranty< (assuming you get it from a dealer).
