I just put newly rebuilt 3.4 liter engine in a Grand Am, and as I hooked up the battery today the wiring harness to the coils began to smoke. I rechecked my wiring, but as far as I know the harness shouldn't even have power to it until the car is on. This is my first experience in dealing with a front wheel drive car with a computer, and I have to admit I'm rather confused now. I'm looking over schematics, and tomorrow I'll be out there with my test equipment - and I was kind of hoping that maybe someone had come across this issue before. Thanks in advance if you have.
