Why do anything with it. Pontiac is a GM motor. It has more power. With larger heads. Pontiac came in the GTO were power was the selling word. Check the engine code in the ID plate. If you put in the low out put 1967 Chevy engine. It will not be a GTO. It will come a daily driver. May it was a daily driver and someone up graded.
The 67 GTO should have had a 400ci engine so Im assuming it has either been changed or you have an imitation GTO (clone)..
either way it will be worth more with a Pontiac engine finding a 400ci engine will make an easy upgrade for the car even if it is a clone..
changing to a Chevrolet engine would require you to also change the trans as they are different bolt patterns ..
