Hi folks! We're having trouble with my son's car and wanted to see if there's someone who can help us with a problem we're having with it. It's an '04 Pontiac Grand Am, 86,000 miles, 3.4 Liter V6. This car has been trouble free since we bought it new on his 16th birthday, but now it sometimes just dies while he's driving it down the road. It seems to have some sort of electrical problem. When it dies, won't restart in nuetral, have to come to a complete stop, put it back in park. Sometimes we have to wait a few minutes before it will restart. We've cleaned all battery terminals, ohmed cables, they're good. Fuses all good. He said when it dies, there's only 4 of the dash lights that come on untill he turns the key off, (I think he said Batt, Oil, Security, and the Service Engine light). I've had the battery "load tested", had alternator output tested ok, now we're at a loss as to what it may be! Air filter is new, would've changed the fuel filter, but this just seems to be electrical. Any ideas out there. I don't know how to do a search of past posts to see if this has been disscussed before, but I did find something about a yellow wire being cut and a toggle switch being put in, and something about "passlock"- HELP - I'm lost!!!!!
