Hello all.

I have been driving and servicing my 1989 Pontiac Sunbird since new.
I have always set the spark plug gap to.045.
I just noticed in the manual today it says .060.

Would anyone know what the correct gap is?
I would be curious to try at.060!

Thanks

look at the label under the hood that shows the engine size, you will find the plug gap. .060 sounds correct with today's modern cars, 0.45 would be more inline with a less powerful coil

Stephen,

.045 for the Regular 2.0 OHC, .035 for the Turbo 2.0 OHC ( 1989)

Sources : Chilton 28320 JBody Manual, Autozone.com , and 2 online charts.
