what value 4 ohm resistor would be needed to replace the dual 4 ohm speaker in the mid (pass) area. need to use one pioneer 4 ohm speaker in that area. the speaker would occupy one connector and the resistor would satisfy the load on the other connector. ( make the amp/head happy). also what would happen if i didnt put a 4 ohm load on the spare connector?

if the dual speakers are marked as a pair as 4 ohms you dont have to do anything. If each one is marked individually as 4 ohms, making a total of 8 ohms, you need one 4 ohm resistor.

the middle speaker is one unit with dual 4 ohm connections. the back of the speaker says 4ohm/4ohm. what i was going to do was just use one 4 ohm speaker and either leave the other pair of leads open or use a 4 ohm res.

dont think leaving them open is a good idea
