where exactly is the starter solenoid located on a 1988 pontiac firebird 2.8L? and if anyone had a picture of what it looked like.... pleaaaase??

GM tended to have to starter solenoid switch attached to the starter motor itself. It looks like a smaller cylinder shaped attachment to the larger cylinder shaped starter motor. Look up your starter motor on http://www.autozone.com to see what your starter looks like.

It's on the starter which is mounted on side of the motor.Your pos battery cable run right to the solenoid that's mounted to the starter.
