hello. I have a 1998 Sunfire GTX 2.2L auto and the only way it starts is when while cranking the engine over, I have to press the gas pedal about a quarter of the way down. Plugs, wires, fuel filter, coil, fuel pump, injectors all replaced. No OBD2 codes yet will be getting code reader in a few days. Any ideas? car idles fine, still has power, no oil burning, no white smoke either.

did you do a fuel pressure test? did you check the fuel pressure regulator?

fuel pressure test will be done over the weekend, but I took off the air intake cover over the throttle body, cranked the butterfly wide open (engine off) and noticed deep down inside the the intake manifold there is a pool of liquid sitting there. Its as if the fuel pump comes on and it sprays raw fuel into the intake. It can't be water because everything is sealed. I'll try and get pictures to show what I mean.
