Starting problem..

I've recently bought a 2003 Montana, since i've had it it will never start on the first attempt. It will turn over, fire and then quit. As soon as i try the second time it will run just fine. It does this everytime, whether the engine is hot or cold.
Can anyone please point me in the right direction of where to start trying to find the fault, or what you did to rectify the same fault..

you probably need a scan tool hooked up to see what is going on when you try on the first attempt . But here is a thread worth reading

Hi

I have had an ODB 11 code reader plugged in and checked for faults, its giving me a knock sensor and o2 sensor fault... I cleared these and it still fails to start on 1st attempt.
I also cleaned up and reconnected the fuel pump connections, that also had no effect.. This fault is starting to get annoying, as sometimes it won't even fire till i use ether (indicating to me its a fuel fault). That is something i don't want to get into a habit using..
