Continuing starting problems. I have replaced fuel filter, checked the fuel pressure regulator (Was replaced a while back), new plugs, coil packs, etc. Hooked up fuel pressure gauge to end of fuel rail. Turn key to on position (Not starting) Hear fuel pump kick in, pressure jumps to 40psi, hear relay click and pressure immediately drops to 0. Start car, pressure to 40psi and holds. Turn car off, and pressure immediately drops to 0. Would this be the check valve in fuel pump? Is the check valve part of the fuel pump?

try pulling the spark plugs after the pressure drops to zero. If one or more of them is very wet with gas you have a leaky injector. Pressure should hold at 40.

Had the same problem with my chevy pickup truck. I put in a new fuel pump and the problem was solved. The check valve is in the pump, the whole thing had to be changed.
