Hello all, went to break in my new fresh motor and no response. Have a manual super T10 transmission. Between starter and ignition switch are you just supposed to have a neutral safety switch on clutch pedal using a purple wire? All there and no response. There is another switch on column. But isn't that for automatics? All advise and help would greatly appreciated. Formula 455

You are correct on a car that came from the factory with a manual transmission there is clutch switch on the pedal that prevents the starter from engaging when turning the key. Use a voltmeter to detemine your issue or jump the pedal switch.

The purple wire should go to the starter. As Mel stated, you need to check for volatge at the switch.

The Manual Transmission Clutch pedal switch is just an addition to the starting circuit that was used on automatic cars, so it still goes thru the ignition switch on the steering column. It replaces the Neutral Safety switch In an automatic. Here is a basic Firebird Wiring diagram available on line thanks to Autozone. I didn't know what year you car is besides that it had to be a 1970-76 Model.
