Hello all,
I've got a few problems with my 2004 Pontiac Montana, and I'd like some suggestions on what to do about repairs. I'm willing and able to do some of the work, I believe.

First of all, does anyone have a service/repair manual for me, or know where I can get one online?

Problem #1: Speedometer is stuck at 110 kmph.

There is no movement of the speedometer whether I am parked, engine on or off, or at any speed. I first noticed the problem after a very cold night in the mountains. The temperature dropped to below -30 degrees Celsius. In the morning, the speedometer was stuck around 110kmph. For a while, the speedometer would move up and down a little, based on the speed of the vehicle. But later is stopped moving altogether. The odometer seems unaffected, and records correctly based on the actual speed of the vehicle, not assuming 110 kmph.

I'm not sure if the cold was the cause of the problem or not, but I noted the coincidence at the time.

The back wiper motor burned out a while ago when it was activated and I had a bike rack on the back. Not sure if that's related or not either.

Problem #2: Intermittent wipers don't work.

One day the intermittent wipers just stopped working. The wipers still work at max speed (max control position), but not at all when the wiper control is not at the max position.

Problem #3: Automatic sliding door no longer working.

The automatic side sliding door is not working, regardless of the position of the overhead switch to disable/enable it. Just stopped working the other day, for no apparent reason.

If anyone has suggestions for any of these problems, or knows where I can get an online copy of a service/repair manual, please let me know.

Thanks!

sliding door : try disconnecting the battery for while to do a hard reset after you clean the brass pin connectors on the door and the b pillar post where the door contacts touch.
