Synthetics in my '96 firebird?

I am looking at putting synthetic engine oil and transmission fluid into my '96 firebird. It has 25 thousand miles on it, so it is worth it.

There are so many variations, I just am unsure what to use. From my experience, Valvoline is probably the best stuff out there. I could eat off of the inside of the crank case of my '92 Trans Sport with 270 thousand miles on it because Valvoline is so clean. So it is preferable. Anyway, what should I use and why?

Thanks

ive heard good things about valvoline. ive also heard royal purple and penzoil are good. i dont have any experience with them, thats just what i hear. nice choice of car btw, is it a trans/formula? if so nice
