I, like many others, have had a problem with my temperature control switch. It was locked at a certain temperature and would not change. I learned that it was a control arm for the heater box that broke. The cost to repair this was over $1,100. GM would not admit that this was a safety issue but did cover half the cost to repair it. I just received a letter and GM is now covering the whole cost of repair. My vehicle is a 2006 Torrent with 80,000km. This is a well documented problem so if anyone is having this issue, email GM to have it repaired.
