Temperature Gauge Not Reading

This is a new one.....for me. Last night about half way into a 300 mile round trip I noticed that my temperature gauge was not reading. When I would come to a stop I could hear the radiator fan running. I was getting plenty of heat to stay warm and the van was running as smooth as ever. It was around 30 outside. Anyone ever have this? Bad Sensor? Bad wire connection?

Sounds like the wire to the temperature sensor might be broken or disconnected. Have you had any engine work done recently?

No, I have not. I was reading about that wire issue. How hard is it to find that wire? Also, Twice I've noticed this: When parked on a slight incline and I have the Emergency Brake set, the automatic headlights won't come on till I release the brake. Odd? Normal?

Normal with the parking brake , common just about across the board with GM.
