• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... Okay because I noticed that general discussion is nothing but this I figured I'd help you guys answer your question very easily. This applys to every single version of Xcar vs. Ycar.

The answer is... There is no right or wrong answer. I don't care what the mods are. I don't care what the conditions are. I don't care who's driving the cars. I don't care if your on the left lane of famosa race way. None of these things will help answer your hypothetical question.

Each and Every situation will have an eventual outcome. What that outcome is will be dependent on what all is/has/will be. This means that if Xcar is brand new with a supercharger and a cold air intake and long tube headers and a drag co-effecient of 0.01 and Ycar is 30 years old with no power and only has two out of four wheels, Ycar can still possibly be the winner if Xcar blows up at the starting line and Ycar somehow is able to drag itself down the track.

So please please stop posting threads saying "will my gtp beat this maserati?" because the answer will always be the same thing. Go race the Maserati for pinks and let us know how you got home.:D

If I have said it once I have said it a thousand times there is ALLWAYS SOMETHING FASTER !!!
especially if you think a passenger car designed for commuting is a Racecar...

and in this case ALOT of the posts are from a Google or Yahoo site where uninformed questions are refered to our site..
also alot are from Kids with little information on what a "performance" car is all about ..sad but true..

Yes Gentlemen, such is true, HOWEVER for those of US that prefer Hypothetical as well as Hyperbole to factual or otherwise as deemed true and/or correct, WE like to wander about and enjoy travelling within the Realms of Truth and Fantasy without conveying admission that either one holds account over the other.

Yes, it is true that carX may well beat carY given many reliably cohesive values yet carY may well beat carX given as well non condusive parameters.

It's for the beholder to decide and as such evokes a mere challenge for further learning or mere mental wandering as so many of US are adept.

CHEERS!!

carX being a Italian Job will easily outrun carY, a French or a supercharged whatever.....or maybe not.

i never really got why people ask those questions. Honestly to find out, line 'em up and race. Thats all I can say. As far as some kids not knowing performance, I will agree with you on that 100%. I am part of another Pontiac Forum for Grand Prix owners and there is not a lot of knowledgeable guys performance wise over there, then again they do like you said. Treat their passenger car as it were a muscle car or sports car.
