Hi I have a 2009 Pontiac Montana sv6. I am in Canada. In winter in really cold weather let’s say above -25’c it does not want to stay warm inside the cab and blows cool air. If I rev it up it may get a bit warmer. In the temps under -25’c it does blow hotter inside cab. Over the last few years I have changed rad caps and put in a new water pump last winter. I have not changed the thermostat or hoses yet. Am sure it’s still factory as I am the second owner. Had about 44000 km on it when I bought it. Anyone have any ideas? Thank you in advance.

What does the engine temperature gauge show, normal or low? If low change the thermostat.

Hi it’s normal in summer and in winter maybe a bit lower than normal when it gets over -20’c or so then tends to be blowing cooler and temp gauge is lower than normal unless I up the revs. But on winter temps when warmer outside it’s normal and blows heat.

It should not go lower than normal, try changing it and make sure it's a 195F thermostat.

Yes I think I will have it changed and all the hoses to while it’s already apart. I think it’s all still factory parts when built. Better to be safe. Thank you
