Montana? I was told yesterday I need tie rod ends to pass my state inspection and was quoted $370, including labor. I was also told I need rear brake pads, quoted $330 with labor. Are these fair estimates, or should I shop around? I only have 15 days to clear my inspection now.

Shop around. This is way high. And don't tell other shops you went some where before. It's always possible, but I find it hard to believe an '05 needs tie rod ends.

omg

that is wayyy to much!!
well let me tell ya i am the
king of reserch, and parts for that van is not exspensive at all.

first you need a mechanic u can trust, and stay away from the dealer!!
then u go to your local parts store and buy the parts u need then
you take them to your mechcanic dude that way u only have to pay for the labor.
and where i live u can still find labor rates as low as 44 bucks an hr

then be done with it! but never take your car any where and drop it off and just say fix it! ha they will robb u every time, be smart about it just know we live in the world of retail and price mark ups. and if u are a women they love to see u commin cuz the already think yor stupid!!!.
