Tire Problems

Hi, I have a 1999 Trans am....I put on new tires about 8 months ago and I have noticed that each tire is worn about halfway down with the exception of the driver side rear tire which is completely done, what could be causing this problem?!? if anyone has any thougthts on this please let me know...Thanks!!

Hey Chris,

What kind of tires were they? as simple as it may be, did you keep good track of your tire pressure? Also, is your rear end in good shape? it may be that your rear end is locking up in turns, and burning that tire, but i'd think youd notice this.....


Just a few questions to think about. I hope i can help!
 
hey there...I have Falken ex 512 245/50/16's....I have not noticed any locking up of the rear end and haven't heard any noises to make me think that it may be the rear....but I have noticed that the the passenger side rear tire had been low a few times so i filled it up, do u think that having one tire 10-15 psi below normal could have resulted in the other tire having premature wear? thanks so much
 
Im gonna drive the car around to see if I can hear anything...if my posi is locking up would it be noticeable and how could i tell? also, if it happens to be the posi locking up how hard is it to replace that unit....I have had rear ends blow on me before with an open diff and have been able to replace the carrier and so forth, but I've never tackled a LSD...and what brands are out there that would be a good fix?
