First post on here but was weren't what size tires everyone is using. Have a 2005 sv6 and just installed continental extreme contact tires size 255/45 17. Only reason is they sent the wrong size. Was to be 245/55 17. For a van seems to handle better and gas mileage is the same with average of 23 with mixed city and highway.

From the little i know i think those two tires are the same in circumference so ur speedo would still be accurate . The size they sent u is wider so it should handle lime its on rails . Lol . U may be giving up a little mpg .

The 245/55 would be the same as the stock 225/60. The 255/45 is a lil over an inch shorter. It is so far the same mileage. Speedo is a couple off. It does turn quicker and less body roll for the heaviness. Lol. Fiance likes it since gives sportier feel to it. No rubs on inner fender either which is what worried me.

Wow u really went wide. Ur putting the sport back into pontiac . Now pep up the engine. And let me know Ur trick. My 03 can't get out of its own way sometimes.Ha.

Lol. The smaller tires helped with the long gear ratio. Helped take off a lil. Once i get my truck running again i might try some performance. Have been curious if the 3.4 liter headers from the grand am would work. Go with the shortie style. I know that with computer programming you can use the ecu from the 3.4. That's the beauty of gm. Almost all are interchangeable. My main experience with Pontiac is helping my brother swap a 3.8 sc into his 02 grand am.

Now that 3800 would be a nice torque motor. Add a sc then u could haul Ur family and tow a trailer.
