I have a 1995 Sunfire 2.2L OHV. I have just re & re'd the head . With the engine running & the Temp rising to almost 3/4 on the gauge the cooling fan is still not coming on. When I disconnect the wires ( Plug ) on the ECT the fan comes on & when plugged back into the sensor it goes off . I need help plzzz :confused:as to why the fan is not coming on during regular operation.
Thx Iggy 777

do you know the voltage readings coming in and going out from the sensor? Is your check engine light on?

No I don't know the voltage reading as I don't have a tester for that .. There is No check engine light on .

well you can either get a volt meter or take a chance and replace the sender.

Well now with the new sensor in the fan still wasn't coming on until the guage gets to 3/4 & then on comes the fan...Is this normal ???

Sounds normal, as long as it doesn't go much higher, and the temp drops with the fan running.
