2007 AWD Black Pontiac Torrent Base 140,000 miles.
Purchased with 137,000 miles. Looked good inside and out and drove very well. Purchase price $3,900 off the lot. Passed state inspection although tire tread was close. Drove 2 weeks with no flaws then began to tweak.
Windows tinted.
Press on rain guards added to windows.
Misfire code P0005 prompted spark plugs and wires replaced.
16 inch Wheels upgraded to 17 inch chrome torrent ten spokes craigslist find for $375 for the set, a pure Godsend of a find.
Pepboys Definity 100 235/60 17 tires put on.
4 wheel alignment and balance. * Note the TPM sensors would not come off the original rims with out damaging so they were left off and will be installed later.
The canister evap solenoid tube that had been taped together came lose and threw a p0442 code minor evap leak. retaped it and cleared code, part is $25will order shortly easy to reach and replace.
Paint is buffed out, beautiful shine. The front faux push bar and rear grey bumper plate where painted out black.
Cleaned up the headlights to be decent looking, but new TYC headlight enclosures are being looked at.
Had an engine flush and 2 oil changes since I've had it.
The little SUV is very good looking and comfortable to drive. Extremely quiet idle though I believe it will be even smoother with a few tanks of injector cleaner and some day trips. Not huge on power but once use to driving it to its capabilities it can stay out of the way nicely. This week on a 50 mile highway run at 60 miles an hour it put up 30 miles per gallon average on the dash screen. I was happy with that being its lower ratting. There was a slight shimmy at 62 - 65 mph from the right front tire since they will have to rebalance all the tires when the TPM sensors go back in ill work that out then.
Current issues are the Day Time Running lights. The occasional bright lights only issue. Once I find out exactly how to get to the DRL resistor I will change it out seems to be a $30 - $40 dollar part. The windshield washer pump is not working will pull the tank soon and check the pump.
The want list is an OEM sub woofer and amp just because. Rear door speaker swap.
So ill do these minor tweaks as I go through this winter and see where its at in the spring. I am having a lot of fun with this, so far easy to work on, little gem.
Will be reading and posting, Hello to all.
