Towing Capacity

I have a 2008 Montana and am trying to determine the towing capacity. The owner's manual states that if the vehicle is equipped with a V92 trailering package or heavy-duty cooling package the capacity is 3500lbs. If not, then it is 2000lbs. Can anyone tell me how I can determine if my van is equipped with either of these things?

go to any GM dealer, give them your VIN and they will be able to tell you what the vehicle was equipped with. You can also try looking in the glove box for a sticker with all the codes, it looks like the picture in this link.

Does the transmission have a tow/haul button?

The label is located ( ID ) on the drivers side, behind the rear seats, I believe in the area where the factory jack is stored, just inside the rear hatch.
Your van will tow 2500 lbs. with no towing package components whatsoever .
If you want to tow up to 3500 lbs - ask a dealer.
