On my 73 Ventura with 350/M-38 (TH350 I guess?) I was ready to change the fluid and filter but to get to the 2 rear pan bolts the transmission mount is in the way. Am I correct in assuming the transmission has to be supported and the rear mount removed to access the 2 rear bolts? I'm thinking I might just take it to a garage. My worry is something might shift making reinstalling the mount a pain and since I'm working on it on jack stands I don't have a lot of room. Any recommendations on a good Garage in the North San Diego County area? Also the Pontiac manual refers to it as a M-38 transmission which I guess is a version of the TH350? Thanks

it's hard to imagine the pan bolt removal requires anything to be done with the mount. Are you sure you cannt get to them with a box or open end wrench?

That or a swivel or universal Socket. I do know that on the 67-69 F-bodies (that share the same sub frame as you 73 Ventura) I had to use a 1/4 drive 1/2 swivel socket to get those loose.
