I have a 72 lemans with the 350v8 and the th350. Thinking about converting to a four speed of some sort and wondering if anyone has suggestions or preferences between available models. It's not a strip car but some decent street performance is desirable. Have been looking at the similar year saginaws, muncies, and borg warners. Saginaw seems like the best choice just on price but I wanted to know if anyone has done a conversion like this?

Well depending on you budget, try looking at the available 5 and 6 speeds from Keisler, stump pulling 1st gears and gas saving 5th or 6th.

well i have found saginaws for around 300 and muncies around 600 and i can rebuild them. the keislers are like 2800+

I would stick to the th350 and have a shift kit put in it and try different rearend gears. Easier, cheaper and good results.
