Hi,
I am looking to a buy an NOS or good working used Turbo LOW pressure switch for a 1980 Trans Am. It was assigned GM part #25036179. The switch is located in front of the EGR valve on the intake manifold. It screws into a brass juction block that also mounts the Turbo HIGH pressure switch and the PEVR. (it looks similar to an oil sending unit in appearance.)
When under hard acceleration the LOW pressure switch illuminates the medium boost light on the 'TURBO CHARGE' panel on the hood that faces the driver. Any help in locating a working LOW pressure switch would be appreciated.
Thanks,
John

Did you call Trans Am Specialties in Florida ,? They should be rebuilt by them according to the poster of one on Ebay Canada that didnt sell...wanted $300 for the block and switches, not tested......

Hi Doug,
I appreciate your response. I just called there & No Go (: Another strike out. I have never heard that the turbo pressure switch could be rebuilt. However if it was possible, it would have to be calibrated, that it triggered between 2 to 3 p.s.i. of turbo boost, so as to operate between the normal and high boost lights on the 'TURBO CHARGE' panel when accelerating.
If you hear of anything further, please let me know.
Thanks,
John

Could something like this be substituted?

Hi,
I am not sure if it could be substituted, but I want to keep my Trans Am as original as possible. I acquired it last year from a 1 owner family with under 11k original miles and have no intention of altering it.
However, I appreciate you trying to help me out with my situation.
Thanks,
John
