Hi All,
I'm new to this forum since I just bought an 86 Fiero a couple of weeks ago. I like the car and I'm working on a number of items to put it back in good shape. It had a lot of deferred maintenance that I'm catching up on. Right now I'm working on getting the cruise control working and have installed a new switch (turn signal stalk) My issue is that the replacement that was guaranteed to fit has a 4 wire blade connector and my original one has a 6 pin rectangular connector with 4 of the pins being used by the cruise control. I would like to splice the old connector to the new switch's wires, but the colors are not the same. The old one had red, orange, brown and brown with a yellow stripe, and the new one has green, yellow, blue and red. Has anyone done this before and could help me out? I'd be grateful.
Thanks, David

try finding a wiring diagram for the car. Autozone has some once you sign up with them otherwise if you intend to keep the car buy a copy of the factory shop manual or try a Hanes or Chilton manual

I would take pictures of the different connectors, and return the "guaranteed" to fit part.
