V6 Firebird Help!!!!!?

Ok, i have a 97 v6 firebird. The other nite i was driving and rannout of gas. So i stop and put more gas in it. When i tried to start it back up it did not start. And before it cut off it made a whistling nosie. WAT COULD THE PROBLEM BE?????????

ya sounds like the fuel pump

Bye bye fuel pump. The gas actually lubricates it as it's sucked through, no gas=no lube=you're replacing the pump.
