valve adjustment

can someone with a 2.2 engine please tell me what the valve clearence is.the valves on number three and four are making a loud taping noise,thanks in advance.

if the nuts are tightened to 22 ft/lbs then you have a wear issue, there is no adjustment.

thanks for your responce melsg5.so,does that mean i need to replace the valves and lifters?i was thinking about do that anyway.just looking for a temperary fix at the moment.i did do a light adjustment on them when i had the head redone last fall.anyway,i suppose i'll just go ahead and replace the valves,lifters and rocker arm just so it'll run a bit better.again,thanks for your help and information.

if you had the head redone last fall why are you considering replacing the valves. The rockers arms may be worn or the lifters or the camshaft.
