i have a 87 fiero gt. i want to eventually make my car really fast and put all new parts in it. i am looking to put the best engine that i can into that car. i was hoping to find an engine that is 7000 or less. if you personally know of something or maybe know websites or anything that would be helpful

we have a number of people here who can answer your question but they are not signed in at the moment. Check back later today or in the evening. thanks.

Depending on where you are in the country there are several locations that can do a swap for you. there are also many many many swaps to choose from. Essentially do this. Grab a list of every single GM made engine and lay it down, shut your eyes and point and that particualar engine will work. If they can fit a 426 ci LS7 in one of these you can fit about anything. IF you are looking to have a really fast car I would direct your attention toward two different engines. A 3800sc series III, or a 4.6L Northstar V8. For your application you may just want to do the Northstar V8. it's a cadillac engine that was very advanced for it's time. It requires a slightly modified cradle but Sinister or West Coast Fiero can both provide you with that. There will also be some custom mount jobs V8 Archies sells an entire kit for this swap for about 2500 bucks that includes a step by step paper version and also a video step by step explanation. For a used Northstar engine I've seen them as low as $800 I'd tell you spend a little more though and get a complete rebuild for about $1800 so that you have no fuss. Everything should come in under 7 grand. Remeber if you live in most counties in california you have to smog it so if you do live in cali you won't be able to go with a lot of V8 swaps. Your actually very limited.

good luck and for some more info on swaps take a look at our many many many swap threads available. :D

Here's actually a really good little engine that may interest you a lot. this is the LS4. It is a FWD V8 so If I remember correctly this one will actually bolt straight to the getrag. And this way you can say you have an LS engine in your fiero. And I know V8 archie or sinister, one of the two (probably both), has done this one several times. and Utah is centrally located in the country so you should be able to get it easy.

Actually if I could afford this engine right now I'd get it myself. For an engine with only 2k miles on it and it is an 07' with everything there and it is in that kind of condition.

:) echmmm.... I really like this engine, hint hint. incase any of you feel like buying it and shipping it to me with a 5-spd muncie. lmao :D
