im going to be installing a turbo onto my 2.8 in a few months, and im wondering wha, if any intakes that would work with the 2.8 without swapping the heads. is there an advantage to using the 3.1, or modifying the intake to use a different TB? im definatly using the SBC rockers when i do the headgasket. any ideas would be awsome

First, SBC rockers require you to use unbaffled steel valve covers. Yoy cannot use them with the Fiero cast aluminum covers as they studs for the rockers are taller and you will need to have the heads reworked to use standard stunds instead of the metric studs. Why not just use the Comp Cams roller tipped rockers? They are a direct fit and you can get them in 1.52 or 1.6 ratio's.

As for intakes, The 3.1L and the 3.4L versions for the iron head will not work without modification. The original 3.1/3.4L engines used DIS ignition systems and the Fiero 2.8L uses a distributor. The 3.1/3.4 intakes will interfere with the distributor. The best choice for a Fiero 2.8L is a Trueleo. Exceptional flow and high quality make it the best choice. You can get one from www.trueleo.com You can use any TB you want. The 60mm from a 3400 Grand Am works the best.

i read on 3rd gen forums that they use the SBC rockers but use the ball and nut off the 2.8 heads. also that the fiero valve covers have more clearance then the steel ones. i heard the 2.8 camaro people find the fiero valve covers to use for em or something..

i guess it might be pretty hanky, and i know you speak from experiance but this is a junkyard build :D (aka im cheap as hell)

The studs on a 2.8L are 10mm, on all sbc's they are 3/8". So the hole in the rocker will be too big and could shift around during mid/high rpm ranges. Also they will wear faster.
