It is a sensor that goes in the exhaust pipe and tells the cars computer how much oxygen or O2 is in the exhaust, it is part of the cars smog system.

dont buy any car that has the check engin lite on or any other such lite on. if its only a sensor then have him fix it before you buy.
buy a car that runs good in the first place and havee someone who KNOWS about cars look it over for you.
