im trying to replace my alternator and cant figure out how to take the belt off what does the adjutment ear look like?
or how do you get the belt off?

I'm not sure what an "adjustment ear" is but i think your talking about the swing arm for a component that can actually be moved for belt adjustment. In your case, you have a serpentine belt that has a tensioner (spring controlled pulley) that must be backed off slightly to release the belt. I would suggest looking up your belt system before you play with it. Try AutoZone.com

Never in 40 years have I heard of an adjustment ear. As the previous poster stated, you need to use the tensioner to relieve belt tension. If you dont know how to do this, please seek a professionals help at a reputable repair facility.

not sure wat you mean by an adjustment ear.but there should be a belt tensioner down there that is spring loaded.wat it looks like is a wheel or pulley with a bolt in the middle of it .put a socket and ratchet on it and turn one way or the other witch will relieve the tension on the belt.thats the best i can describe it w/o drawing you a pic
