I'm not sure what an "adjustment ear" is but i think your talking about the swing arm for a component that can actually be moved for belt adjustment. In your case, you have a serpentine belt that has a tensioner (spring controlled pulley) that must be backed off slightly to release the belt. I would suggest looking up your belt system before you play with it. Try AutoZone.com
Never in 40 years have I heard of an adjustment ear. As the previous poster stated, you need to use the tensioner to relieve belt tension. If you dont know how to do this, please seek a professionals help at a reputable repair facility.
not sure wat you mean by an adjustment ear.but there should be a belt tensioner down there that is spring loaded.wat it looks like is a wheel or pulley with a bolt in the middle of it .put a socket and ratchet on it and turn one way or the other witch will relieve the tension on the belt.thats the best i can describe it w/o drawing you a pic
