traction control? I was looking at several 2002 Trans Am and i see that some have a traction control button and some that dont have this button. what is the difference between these two?
Um, one has traction control, the other doesn't... ;^)
This was an extra cost option for years, that's all. Traction control basically uses the abs and engine management systems to limit power to the drive wheels. The button you see is actually an ATS disable switch, which will allow you to turn it off to get yourself out if you're already stuck.
the traction control on these cars actually push up on the gas pedal when the tires start so spin...all the auto tranny TA's and z28 camaros had it, the standards didnt.
