What is the original engine on a 2000 pontiac sunfire GT?

well im thinking of buying this car and the guy says that there is a 2.4L twin cam engine inside the car. I am just wondering is this the original engine or has it been changed or modified and also is it a good engine and car. Thx alot

it's the original type of engine, but you have to determine if it's been changed by the serial number on the block or modified by looking at it.
