What is this on my 2.5 2m4

I bought my 86 2m4 and alot of stuff wasn't hooked up and I can't figure out what this is: (The thing capped of "Blue cap")

I do not believe this fiero has a trunk release, Key only.

I have an '85 2M4, and it has the trunk release switch on the dashboard. Mine doesn't work, but the connector is still hanging off the deck lid.

As said mine doesn't have a trunk release.

Well the large round sensor is the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) so it looks like it could be the connector for the shift indicator and neutral safety switch if it is an auto trans. If it's a manual trans it could be why it is capped off. Many times folks who swap a manual into an originally automatic car will short the neutral safety switch.

Can you shift into neutral and start the car without the clutch engaged? If you can, I bet if you pull that connector apart it won't start.

Its a 5spd, the clutch has to be engaged to start the car.
