98-02 Trans Am and Formula recieved the aluminum block/heads LS1 engine. Some of the last in line 2002's recieved LS6 Vette blocks and a very rare few are know to have recieved complete LS6 engines.

Yes, my '98 T/A is an LS1 and it is aluminum
