I have two Grand Ams: A 1992 Grand Am 3300 V6 and a 1995 Grand Am with a 3100 V6. I am thinking about swapping the engines out as the 95's engine is choking. But I want to know the HP difference and if it would be worth the hassle. So Should I fix the engine that is already in the 95 or do the swap? Notes: The 92's V6 only has 44k miles on it and Will run. The 95's V6 has 150k miles on it and it wants to turn over but is choking on gas. Thank you for your help in advance.

It is most likely not worth the hassle of swapping engines since the tranny is still left in the 150K car. This choking on gas??? I would see what this choking on gas is first, may be nothing. The car with only 44k miles is going to have to be resealed prior to dropping it in. If you do have to swap, might as replace all the seals & reseal the oil pan, valve covers & intake manifold. Not good on a car to let them sit. That is really hard on a automobile. It is better if you drove it 1,000 every day than to let it sit like that. Transmission could have some corrosion built up inside the valve body where the fluid drains off from sitting & the air & moisture start working on the bare metal.
