Whats your opinion on a 2007 Pontiac Solstice GXP as a first car for a 15 year old?

Let's just say, that I would never allow my kid to drive one of those. 1, you aren't teaching them anything by giving them a car. and 2, that car has some horses. It's a nice car, its a convertible, and it would be way too tempting for a kid. And honestly they wouldn't shed a tear if they crashed it. It's too nice of a car to be abused and trashed by a kid.

2+ deaths waiting to happen. If you're willing to drop that kinda money on a kid's car, why not put the in something like a Volvo that is known for it's safety standards? Personally it wouldn't matter if I hit the lotto tomorrow, my daughter would still have to work and purchase her first car.

They are pretty good cars, BUT, My sister-in-law just sold hers' because if has NO room for anything. The gas mileage is poor for a small car(about 20mpg avg.) and the resale value is one of the worse I've ever seen.If she has many friends, they will have to take turns riding with her, as it seat only 2,including driver.I think you should find a safer, larger car. Chevy Malibu, Pontiac G6, etc.

My parents don't even have a car that nice!

I would say your spoiling your kid but from my point of view I think thats pretty sweet.

I drove this when it came out. It was way too fast for my son, and quite frankly, a little too harsh to be comfortable. It was loud, stiff, had no spare, overpriced....but it did attract attention. Something your daughter probably hopes for, but do you.
