Hi
I just got a 67 Lemans, and I'm thinking to buy new wheels. I'll like to get a 17 inches.
Could you help me with the offset I need? Also the size of the tires they'll fit best.

Thanks

go to www.tirerack.com and see what they offer. Even if you dont like the wheels/tires you will find out what the offset and size is.

Looks like the backspacing is 4 inches and you can put a 225/50x17, maybe even a 235/50x17. Tirerack tends to be conservative with their maximum size.

Could I go on 255?
I was checking the American Racing Torq Thrust M anthratice, 17*8

any other ideas?

The wheel choice is good but that's a big jump in tire size. You would have to find a shop willing to mount one tire and check it at all 4 locations especially the front when turning the steering wheel lock to lock.

I'm also cheking the ion black 625

kanal, i bought a used snowflake wheels (i believe they are for 70s transam) for my 67 lemans they are rubbing a bit. They are 15x8 with 255/60/15. I replaced the tires with 225/50/15 and they fit just right. It doesn't look as beefy but it fits just right. I'm also considering to upgrade to 17s but not sure if it'll fit properly. I'm interested to know if this will actually work. Please post or let me know how this turns out.

Hi,
after to much thinking I took a decision, but I think I made a mistake.
AR torq thrust M 17*8 with 255/45
AR torq thrust M 17*7 with 225/50 in the front.

It looks ok, but...this is not what I want.
They fit perfect, and don't rubber anywhere, but I have the impression when I look at the car that these wheels just don't match with the pontiac. Just thinking to go back to original rallyIIs

How can I upload a pic?

255/60/15 is rubbering? Do you have the old springs on the rear? Because I replaced them and I got 3 inches at the rear bumper (the car was digging a lot, now it's in place).
