when to replace fuel pump

My 88 GT has 21,000 miles on it. It is only used to go to shows NO other driving ! The fuel pump and fuel filters are all original from the factory in 88. I guess my ? is ? Will it give me trouble on the road or just cut off all at once? any troughs on this would be helpful. Sawdy

Normally people dont replace fuel pumps until they fail and you have very low mileage.

A good rule of thumb is to change fuel filters every 10000 miles or 3rd oil change, real important on fuel injected cars and trucks. I always write the mileage and date I change them on it with a Sharpie.
