Where can i get an automatic shift kit for my 1998

trans am? Ive been reading about this shift kits that supposely make shifts smother and faster ! but i can't find one where can i get one? Is this bad to the car in anyway? if is not bad why does it not come as an standard option from factory? is the jet power shift what i need or is that for something else?

The standard for the 4L60E automatic is to program the PCM through the use of programs such as EFILive, LS1Edit or HPTuners. You change fluid pressures and shift points. Since they are electronic controlled transmissions so called shift kits don't do much compared to reprogramming. As for the best performance mod for your 4L60E, a stall converter really picks things up. Results of up to a half second in the quarter mile are normal to see with just changing the torque converter. Since this stresses the trans reprogramming should be done.
