Which Pontiac Firebird year(s) are/is better?

So, Im looking into purchasing a Pontiac Firebird/Trans Am

I either want an 88' Trans Am GTA
or
A Firebird/Trans Am from 2000-2002.

Which one is better? Opinions and Answers wanted

from 98-02 gen.. they are awesome...but it better be a v8 5.7, if you get the base v6 you'll feel why didnt i get a v8 instead kuz v6 are pretty fast too but knowing theres a v8 ull be like i want a v8.

2000+, the LS1 (code name for V8 engine in the late model year F-body) is a bullet proof engine in your years stated. You can modify it easy, it will last a LONG time if you perform normal maintenance, well over 150/200,000 miles. The build quality on 4th generation Firebird's is higher than the older 3rd gens.
